Abuse of power, bullying, discrimination, and harassment are not compatible with a respectful learning and teaching environment

All members and guests of the University of Arts Linz. This includes students, employees (permanent or freelance), guests, and audiences of events held at or organized by the university.

The conversation can take place by phone, online, or at an accessible, protected location in Linz city centre. In the preliminary conversation, we clarify any barriers that need to be considered so that you can participate comfortably.

The conversation takes place in a confidential one-on-one setting. The goal is to gain clarity about transgressive behaviour you have experienced or observed. We provide information about the available internal and external resources.

By the end of the conversation, there should be clarity about possible next steps (reporting, counselling, or complaint procedures).

ClearPath does not provide legal, psychological, or psychotherapeutic advice. There are existing services at the University of Arts Linz for these needs.

Well-being is as individual as boundary-crossing. The law provides a clear framework for issues such as violence and bullying. What is perceived as a “personal boundary violation” often goes beyond legal definitions. It is important that everyone in the university community feels respected and treated fairly. ClearPath is confidential and operates independently from the University of Arts Linz. What happens after the session is entirely up to the person affected. ClearPath informs about all possible reporting, counselling, and complaint channels, so that at the end of the conversation there is clarity about the next step.

ClearPath is led by Clar Gallistl. They have twenty years of experience in the Austrian art and culture sector, with training in cultural and project management, further education in Nonviolent Communication, First Aid Arts and Awareness, and extensive expertise in “Fairness in Art, Culture, and the Creative Industries.” They helped establish the Vera* trust office at the Austrian Federal Chancellery for Art and Culture, later served as its managing director, leads an international Community of Practice for the UK Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority, and offers professional advice on preventing abuse of power as an independent consultant.

ClearPath is funded through a service contract with the University of Arts Linz. Complaints about ClearPath’s activities should therefore be directed to the university as the client (Mag.^a Kathrin Anzinger, Head of Quality Management).

ClearPath reports once a year to a steering group established at the University of Arts Linz, which includes representatives from AKG, the works council, the student union (ÖH), and the university’s quality management department. No personal data or case-related information is shared in these reports. The evaluation includes the number and type of consultations, topic frequency, and the framework conditions of ClearPath.
